Open Letter to Prime Minister of India from die hard and ever optimistic Modi follower

Hon'ble Prime Minister,

My 7 years daughter asked me " Papa kya ab desh theek ho gaya, aap kehte the ki Modi ayega to sab theek ho jayega" I thought for few minutes and answered her that "Sab theek ho jayega" but in hindsight I thought "ki sab theek ho raha hai kya" and after much thought I am writing this letter.

To start with I must admit that I and many of my known not only casted our votes in your favour but we also poured well wishes for you, at times I had altercations while arguing in your favour. It was because of your dedication towards work and apparently no nonsense kind of attitude while managing your administrative and political issues. The manner in which you managed Gujrat created hopes in people like us. Since last 3 years social media has gone viral about you, and you are all over. I believed that you were the only hope for the nation.

I thanked god when on 16th May 2014 NDA sweeped the General Elections. On the day of counting when it became almost certain that you would be our Prime Minister, I started rejoicing and even gave day's off to my office staff. This was victory for many of us who were seemlingly helpless against misrule of last 68 years wherein common citizen didn't had any voice and always succumbed to the fact that we were born in India.

By nature I am not cynical, but not being one does not deprive me analyzing my leader on whom I have entrusted my & my children's future. Good 16 months have gone since you assumed office and virtually 25% of your current tenure is over but change you promised is nowhere felt. Yes I recall, you have said that your performance be judged after 5 years, that is fine but I can't see country being run in similar manner as it was being run since last many decades. Change is and should be continuous and can't be brought at 11th hour.

Message is not going through:
There are some things that are symbolic should have been done immediately after assuming office like Black Money, cases against likes of  Mr Vadra, Red Tapism etc. You and you party think-tank were no novice that you made huge promises about retrieval of Black Money and punishment to those who have stashed away ill-gotten money abroad. List of such persons should have been released without delay but your advisors and you cited treaty with nations where the money is stashed as the reason for non disclosure. Your team went on to pursue Supreme Court that names cannot be revealed. For strong nations keeping national interest is prime. Message has gone that you have furthered what previous corrupt regime did for the reasons best know to you. Country does not know the technicalities, it knows that big business houses and your fellow politicians have persuaded you to retract from your poll promises. You being tech savy and active on social media might be seeing the jokes & cartoon being circulated on Black Money.
In your election rallies your never failed to take jibe at the Vadra (the Jija Ji), Sharad Pawar, Hooda etc but post your election to the top job and that too with full majority, you were not able file a single case against them. You might have had ample proofs against these people that is way you spoke against them so authoritatively, you could have filed FIR and got them arrested like it happens to common people. Courts could have decided their fate. This showed your week political will. Hence you failed to convey that people's man "The Pradhan Sevak" is Prime Minister now.

Arrogant & Corrupt Bureaucracy is hurting Mission India:
It was sad to read that despite of aggressive "Make In India" campaign that international media (Read Article) still says " Red tapism of Indian bureaucracy poses hurdle to red carpet for foreign companies" In initial days of your of your acquiring the charge, when you called back a Minister back from airport to be dressed properly and there were news that Babus have started reaching office on time, a strong message went to masses that a no nonsense leader is at the helm of affairs. We all know that you have right frame of mind and have a set agenda for nation but we as a commoners have small aspirations and expectations which ranges from price rise, corruption at the lower levels of government, addressing the complaints pertaining to day to day life. It is sad to observe that there is no change in that the arrogance of government officials and attitude of middle rung & senior bureaucrats is still the same and they still enjoy the immunity and powers that they have been enjoying since British Raj.
Those who get elected through Civil Services ignore the very basic word "Services". Meeting a Prime Minister or Chief Minister is easy but seeking time for appointment from middle rung bureaucrat is herculean task.
Now what happens is, a lower rung employee is suspended or terminated for act of corruption where as the booty is shared amongst all. If self acquired immunity from scrutiny & punishments to bureaucrats ends and DC & SP of district is held liable for every wrong doing of clerk or constable take my words corruption that affects commoner will end with in a day.
I have served central government for good 13 years and I know if top boss wants nobody can even dare to do against the law, meaning thereby if Prime Minister's directions are clear then leave aside clerk, the bureaucrats will not be able to ignore common citizens.

Education & Health Care:

Education and health care are the key to success of any nation and ironically we have ignored them astonishingly. You are aware of the situation of both these sectors, still nothing concrete has been started leave aside completed, in improving the education and health sectors. Very conveniently these two sector have been developed as money making propositions by many business houses and politicians. Nation is expecting some tough decisions (You can take some cues from latest judgement of Allhabad High Court) from you so that poor cictizen of India have access to good education and hospitals.

By saying all this I am not casting any aspersions on your intent, there are lot many good things that have happened like Swach Bharat Mission, Jan Dhan, Coal & 3G Auctions , Girls Toilet Mission, Ajit Doval, Suresh Prabhu, Nagaland Peace Treaty, Bangladesh Border, step toward GST etc
Again as your true supporter and well wisher I strongly feel that you are much required by this nation and I can't think of those corrupt demagogues ruling us again. I once again reiterate that don't let this opportunity of making India a great nation slip away.

In the end just wanted to know from you what should I answer if my daughter asks again ki "Ab desh theek ho gaya kya"

Jai Hind
